Flashback Friday.

Hello, Hello!

Well it's a slow rainy Friday today at work so I might be spending my time browsing the internet to keep busy. Currently Pandora is on the 60's, 70's and 80's station and I am jamming out! So it seemed kinda perfect when I stumbled upon a bunch of old Vogue covers. If there is one thing about fashion that I love, it would be magazine ads. I could probably flip through pages over and over again and just stare at all the ads and spreads.

I grew up for half of my life living with my grandparents, so I always have a love for anything 1940's and later. I've always enjoyed driving around with my grandpa listening to old beach boys tapes in his woody, or spending a night with my grandparents as they play cards with a old movie playing on TCM. I think one of my favorite things about old movies is the fashion. I feel like the style back then is just so unique and beautiful. I can appreciate any woman who can make a pant suit look feminine, and the 1950's did that!

When I came across all of these covers, I got really excited. before moving away, I used to have stacks and stacks of magazines, including a lot of Vogue. Unfortunately I just could not manage to bring them along since I had to pack all my belongings in just one car. Now that I'm finally settled in to a new place, I've been back to collecting magazines and also collecting September issues of Vogue as well.  But looking at these old covers I'm very tempted to maybe buy a few and frame them.

That Spring Fever

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Well the Oregon rain has decided to join us once again. Up until just yesterday we were enjoying 50, 60 and even 70 degree sunny skies the past two weeks. Just within two weeks I caught the inevitable spring fever that is going around, and I'm ready to wear dresses and dance in fields. Okay, maybe I actually won't be doing any dancing outside soon (or for a few months) but I am still wanting to do more things outside of the house. Just a few days ago I decided that I need to just push myself and be more productive and avoid binge watching Netflix on my days off. Don't get me wrong, I'm always happy with spending 8-11 hours trying to finish a season of a new addicting show but I decided that I really do need to just get out and enjoy new sights. I'm not much of a social person when I'm out by myself so most of the time I am completely happy with just sitting down at the local coffee shop and getting into whatever book I'm reading at the moment.

But let's get back to the spring talk. It seems like everything I've been doing lately is just reminding me of spring and summer. I've been mostly gravitating back to bright colors in my clothes and nail polish. Although wearing black everyday still feels so badass and sassy. I've also been listening to more music that is upbeat and just gives me the feel of summer, and there will be many new playlists in the future. but for now, It looks like the rain will be sticking around with us for a few weeks. So here's to sneaking out to enjoy the sun when it shows and enjoy a nice coffee or going to the dog park with my roommates and the pup.

(and here's a few more photos from the past couple of weeks)

Winter Polishes

Happy Thursday Everyone!
I finished my last class for the week just a few hours ago so I guess technically my weekend has started, although I am working both Friday and Saturday. As for tonight, I am attending a wedding for a coworker/friend. For the past couple of days I have been planning out in my head what im going to wear, and Im leaving in an hour an a half with only my dress picked out. My hair is a frizzy mess right now, I'm in a tank top and leggings and my makeup is slightly smudged from the shower. There is one thing that I have done and looking perfect: my nail polish. On Monday night I went into my nail polish drawer to grab out the colors I planned on painting my nails for tonight's event when a blog idea occurred to me, why not write a post about my favorite Winter polishes! So I grabbed out my camera, super cleaned my bathroom counter and started taking pictures.
In fall and winter I tend to gravitate towards certain colors that I normally don't wear in spring and summer. While most of these colors here are dark, there are a few brighter colors that lighten up those dark winter days. So for anyone that's looking for some new polishes this month or wondering what colors of theirs to put to use, here is my top 10 favorite polishes this winter.
First up is OPI's Black Onyx. I think this winter I have worn this nail polish probably about 25% of the time.
I just feel like a good black nail polish is a perfect accessory and I just feel so Bad-ass wearing it.

I know for a fact that OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark is a huge fall favorite for so many people and It transitions
into winter so well. This dark burgundy color is beautiful in the light and is currently the color of my accent nail.

OPI's Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! polish is one of my top favorite polishes I have ever had. Again this is a polish that I wear probably 25% of my time. It's the perfect dark grey color and I fell in love the moment I bought the Germany Collection samples.

Part of OPI's James Bond collection, Skyfall has made its way into my heart. Im not the biggest red polish lover,
but this darker red has won me over.

Here we jump into some of the lighter colors that Im enjoying this season. OPI's Heart Throb is such a great light peachy pink for more of a natural, less noticeable color.

Surprise surprise, A different Nail Polish Brand. I have had Essie's Bikini So Teeny for a few years now and This is definitely one of my favorite light blue polishes. It has the slightest shimmer to it that does not over power the color and goes on like a charm.

Another polish from OPI's Germany collection, Don't Pretzel My Buttons has become my favorite Nude polish, and I have tried quite a few. This is another color that I currently have on my nails and it has the perfect combination of pink and tan to it that works so well against my skin tone.

If you are looking for a great and unique polish to wear on top of other colors, Nubar's G188 is a polish you got to get your hands on and on your hands! I love wearing this color over black (like here) but it also looks great over other colors (like here).

When OPI came out with their Liquid Sand collection, I sorta fell in love with this color.
What Wizardry Is This is such a great bronzie gold color and comes out in such a cool texture.

And last but not least, OPI's Polka.Com is my favorite glitter to wear for the holidays. While most of my glitters are Silver or Gold, this color is great to have around to add more color to my day.

Well, those are my current favorites, and I hope that maybe I have helped for any of you looking for new polishes.
Now to go get ready in 30 minutes for this wedding, oops.

Another Shot

It's been about a year and a half since I started this blog, and a year and a half since I've last posted. Well I've decided that It's time for me to try again, so here goes nothing.

My last post was back in May of 2012, right after I graduated High School. Since then I moved away, started college and started to become an adult. So I decided that I wanted my first post of 2014 to be a collection of photos from 2013. These are just a few photos that either I've taken or were taken by someone else.
At the car meet on Easter, one of my first outings with friends in downtown Portland.

Meeting The Weeks back in April after 4 years of listening to their amazing music.
This was probably one of my favorite days of 2013.

Photoshoot done in Winter by one of my amazing coworkers.

You can see more of these photos here and here

A long exposure overlook of The Dalles that I did for a photo class.

My first trip back home visiting with friends, hoping to always remember this day.

Visiting The Dalles with my roommate in spring.

This house has become my home away from home.
Another shot from my visit back home.

The day before Christmas when my roommate and I went for a small trip to overlook The Gorge.

Picking out pumpkins for our first actual Halloween in our apartment.

Candid.
She's one of my favorite people on this planet.

Taken on my film camera back in winter, this actually might be from late 2012 or early 2013,
I can't actually quite remember.

San Francisco beach.

My dear younger cousin.

That day the beach was covered in tiny jellyfish.
they looked so cute but I was terrified that I was going to step on one.

The first photo I took on my camera,
my friend Matt's tattoo.

and that is a small look into some of my favorite moments of 2013.

Little People.

I couldn't help but post these photos, they bring a new look onto just normal objects. My favorite would have to be the father and his daughter with the dead bee.

These were created and taken by Slinkachu.
you can find these photos here.
and more like them on Slinkachu's profile here.

Fashion First.

So I've decided to make today the first day that I will post on Foxtails and Lace. Im not sure if anyone will read this post besides myself, and let's face it, i'll reread it multiple times. Since I have yet to invest in a camera that will suit my needs for this blog, I will be posting photos from the internet, perhaps music, poems, short stories, quotes and whatever else suits my mood for that day.

With Spring here and summer right around the corner, I felt like creating a wardrobe post. I'll be gradating in a short amount of time right now and then I will be moving to Portland, so updating my closet would be great right now.
